In class we have been learning about Electricity. We designed and made our own Steady Hand Games, thinking about the circuit we needed to use and how it should only be made complete when the wire of the handle touched the wire of the game. Some used a bulb which lit up when this happened, others used a buzzer.
Our trip to Forest School - we learnt a lot!!
P4 and 5 headed off to Jungle NI to Forest School. We had great fun making our own paint, building shelters and creating wooden cookies. We also got the chance to try lighting our own fire - quite a few were successful!
P4 and P5 made a super effort for our belated World Book Day! Aren't their costumes fabulous??!! Well done to you all and to Alex and Courtney - the winners from our class.
The boys and girls have been taking part in 'Genius Hour' over the last few weeks where they have had the chance to research an area of interest and present their findings in whichever way they choose. Here are some of the finished products!
P4/5 created their own version of a pyramid after we had studied how and why they were built - good job!!
We have been learning about how important the Nile was to the Egyptians, and how they used a shaduf to get the water onto the land. We made a simple version of a shaduf.
The Amazing Journey really was amazing!! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed visiting some of the great stories included in the Bible.
P5 had a visit from the Firemen. They shared with us how to stay safe at home and avoid fires but also encouraged us to think about what we should do if there ever was a fire in our home.
Welcome back to all P4/5 pupils. We all had a great summer break and are now settling well into class.
Our 1st WAU topic this year is Weather so keep an eye out for some of our weather forecasting and weather station findings coming soon.
